questions

Here’s answers to our most common questions

What is required for the trial job?

As part of the onboarding process, your trial job can be completed on any property. This step is crucial as it enables us to offer feedback and confirm your readiness for live assignments. We need approximately 10 x Unedited 5-bracket HDR photos with 1 window pull image and a sketch floor plan. Rest assured, we handle all post-production, eliminating the need for you to edit or enhance your photos.

Why do I need to draw a floorplan?

Estate Agents across the UK rely on our services. They require photos and a floor plan to list a property on the market. Your contribution involves providing a simple hand-drawn sketch; we handle the professional drawing aspect.

What property do I use for the trial job?

You have the freedom to choose any property accessible to you for the trial job. Whether it's your own property, a friend or family member's, or even a show home, it doesn't matter to us. Our focus lies solely on the quality of the photography, not the type or cleanliness of the property.

How far will the travel expectation be?

Unless otherwise agreed, all your assignments will be local. Typically, we consider this to be within a 20-mile radius from your base, but you're free to define what "local" means to you.

How are jobs booked in with me?

Once the Estate Agent sends an instruction to our admin team, we'll promptly review your availability. If it aligns, perfect. If not, we'll explore alternative scheduling options or consider assigning another photographer.

How do I send you the trial job images?

Please upload your photos and sketch floor plan to foto-marketing.wetransfer.com, using hello@fotomarketing.co.uk as the recipient’s email address.

What equipment will I need?

You'll need a DSLR or mirrorless system camera, preferably with a 16-18mm wide-angle lens or a 35mm equivalent for APS-C camera bodies (around 16mm-18mm for full-frame or 10mm–12mm for crop sensors). Additionally, a tripod, laser measurer, graph paper, pencil, and eraser are essential tools.

What insurances do I need?

You need to have professional indemnity insurance with a minimum coverage of £50,000 and public liability insurance with a minimum coverage of £1,000,000.

Do you pay travel expenses?

We do not cover travel expenses, and we typically assign work within a 20-mile radius from your home (unless otherwise discussed).
